ADF 35 page that is an accepted touch to any Office, making it easy to scan, fax and copy multi-page documents, as well as legal size pages, which are too large to fit on letter-size flatbed.
As you might expect from a cheap price, printer leaves out some useful convenience. In particular, only 150-sheet input tray, automatic duplexer, and not even as an option, and there is no way to scan by giving orders from the front panel. If the printer does not sit on or right at your desk, you have to walk to it twice every time you scan — once to organize documents in place, and once to take it after you have given the command scan of your computer. Setup
For my tests, I am connected to the network and M1212nf installing drivers on a system running Windows Vista. According to HP, it also comes with a complete set of print, scan, and Fax one complete set of drivers and software for Windows 7 (both 32 and 64-bit versions), XP, Server 2003 and Server 2008, as well as Mac OS X v 10.4 through 10.6. In addition, HP says You can download print driver for a Linux distribution which is currently almost all of HP's Web site.
Typical physical setup for low-end mono laser MFP. M1212nf weighs only 18.3 pound, and measuring just 12 inches 17.1 by 10.4 (HWD), making it easy to find enough room for it. Just put it in place, remove packing materials, loading paper, and plug in the power cord and cables.
For my test, I installed the drivers and the software uses standard Windows approach; namely, I attached the network cable and ran the installation program automatically from the disc. It's worth mentioning, however, that the drivers for all versions of Windows (but not a Mac) is also stored in the printer. This gives you the option for Windows to connect with a USB cable and install the driver from the printer itself, though you still need to install the OCR software from disk.
